Breining and CAADE: Leading the Way in California, ahead of schedule
The announcement in July 2014 of Breining and CAADE establishing a uniform AOD/SUD professional credential in California was greeted with widespread support by employers, educators and counselors.
The result is that the State-approved Certified Addictions Treatment Counselor (CATC) Credential has become the fastest growing, most sought after entry-level AOD/SUD credential in California, and the two-year transition to this uniform standard is ahead of schedule.
The nationally-recognized Registered Addiction Specialist (RAS) Credential issued by Breining is part of this transition, allowing addiction professionals to both retain their RAS Credential and be awarded the CATC Credential, so that these professionals enjoy both national and State-wide recognition.
